Fabscraps Gentlemen's Collection!

It's always an exciting day when you get to post your first work for a design team!  So today I am really happy to show you my first layout with Fabscraps Gentlemen's collection!  This is the perfect set of papers to use when scrapping those men in your life and with Father's Day coming up, well, it's perfect.

However,  it works with other themes too and I chose to do a vintage styled layout of myself when I was 19 traveling in Europe on my Eurail pass and diligently reading my Europe on $10 a Day!

For this project you will need:

  • Fabscraps Gentlemen's Collection paper range:  C66 001 Expedition, 007 Thoroughbred, Horsing Around 008,  003 Airships,
  • DC66 011 Globe chipboard piece
  • MC66 001A Journal Box cutouts
  • Mask and gold molding paste
  • Lindy's Grab a Guy gold mist
  • Scrap cardboard
  • Gold embossing powder
  • Gold pigment Izink
  • laser cut wood Eiffel Tower
  • Flowers and embellishments of your choice
Instructions:

  1. Distress and ink the edges of sheet 001 Expedition.
  2. Trim sheet 007 Thoroughbred so that it is an 11" square, distress and ink the edges.
  3. Trim sheet 008 Horsing Around so that it is a 10.25" square.  Use a Punch Around the Page punch on the edges, distress and ink.
  4. Tear some narrow strips from cardboard, ink and distress.
  5. Now layer the sheets with the largest on the bottom.  Tuck and adhere the cardboard strips between the bottom layer 001 and the next layer, 007.
  6. Mask a pattern in the upper left corner with gold masking paste.  Allow to dry before continuing to the next step. ( I used TCW Art is... mask and Studio 490 Gold Embossing Enamel)
  7. Randomly spray Lindy's here and there on the layout and dry with a heat gun.
  8. Fussy cut the large globe from sheet 003 Airships, distress and ink.  Adhere in the upper right corner.
  9. Carefully cut the chipboard globe from its frame.  Paint the frame gold. (I used Emperor's Gold Silks)
  10. Emboss the chipboard globe with gold embossing powder.  (I used Stampendous Aged Gold Enamel)
  11. Drip some gold Izink on the right side of the layout as shown.
  12. Fussy cut one of the watches and one of the large journal cards from the MC66 001A papers.
  13. Adhere a piece of scrap cardboard to the back of the journal card so that it is popped up.  Adhere your title to the journal card and secure to the layout in the bottom left corner.  Add the Eiffel Tower over top the title as shown.
  14. Layer some scrap cardboard, the gold painted frame from the chipboard globe, and some paper scraps underneath your photo.  Tuck in the fussy cut pocket watch at the top.
  15. Adhere the chipboard globe on the bottom right side of the photo.
  16. Embellish with flowers (mine are Petaloo Amber Mixed Textures Blossoms) and other bits and bobs that you may have.
  17. That's it, enjoy your work!
